Gen Asagiri is the mentalist and psychological specialist of Senku's Kingdom of Science in Dr. Stone — a former TV performer whose manipulation skills make him among the most strategically valuable members of the team in situations where violence is not the answer, which is more often than the series' combat scenes suggest.

Background

Gen was a professional TV mentalist in the old world, which means his skill set is entirely human in origin and entirely applicable to the Stone World. He was petrified like everyone else and revived by Tsukasa's empire before switching sides to join Senku's Kingdom of Science — motivated less by ideology than by a combination of pragmatism and the slow realisation that Senku's vision is genuinely more interesting than Tsukasa's. He functions as the group's spy, negotiator, actor, and psychological analyst, filling roles that raw scientific knowledge cannot.
