Background
A tanuki demi-human orphaned and enslaved after tragedy struck her village, Raphtalia is bought by Naofumi as a terrified, sickly child. Under his protection she recovers — and because demi-humans mature as they grow stronger, she rapidly blossoms into a capable young woman and a formidable fighter.
