Yoichi Nagumo is Taro Sakamoto's partner in Sakamoto Days and the precise half of a partnership built on the combination of abilities that neither of them could use as effectively alone.

Background

He possesses a predictive ability — what the series calls the capacity to read the trajectories of incoming attacks before they connect, effectively perceiving a critical moment ahead of the immediate present. In combat, this translates to a precision that allows him to engage opponents who would otherwise overwhelm him on raw physical terms: he doesn't need to be faster than an attack if he knows where it's going before it arrives. The ability is not infallible and the series is honest about its limitations — against genuinely unpredictable opponents or in situations where the information is too dense to process quickly, the advantage degrades. What remains is still formidable. He has a complicated history within the organization that produces and employs assassins, and that history is part of what he brings into his partnership with the retired Sakamoto — context, knowledge, and a set of professional relationships that are not always straightforwardly helpful. Personality
