Edward Elric

Edward Elric is the "Fullmetal Alchemist" — a teenage prodigy who lost an arm and a leg in a forbidden ritual and now hunts the Philosopher's Stone to restore what he and his brother lost.

Background

After their mother's death, Edward and his younger brother Alphonse attempted the ultimate taboo — human transmutation — to bring her back. The ritual failed catastrophically: Ed lost two limbs, and Al lost his entire body, his soul bound to a suit of armour. Becoming the youngest-ever State Alchemist, Ed devotes himself to making them whole again.
