Sasha Blouse

from Attack on TitanFan favourite

Sasha Blouse, immortalised as "Potato Girl," is one of Attack on Titan's most beloved soldiers — a gifted hunter and marksman whose appetite for life, in every sense, made her loss one of the series' most devastating moments.

Background

Sasha grew up in Dauper, a forested village inside the Walls whose people survived by hunting rather than farming. Her skills with a bow, her speed through woodland terrain, and her preternatural ability to track and read natural environments were already formed before she ever saw a Titan. She joined the 104th Training Corps alongside Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Jean, graduating into a cohort that would face the fall of Wall Rose. Her reputation for stealing food from the mess hall became legendary — as did, eventually, her combat record.

Powers & Abilities

AbilityWhat it does
Expert marksmanshipExceptional with both bow and firearms; capable of precision shots under combat conditions that would break most soldiers' composure
Hunter's instinctReads terrain and movement the way her village upbringing trained her to; translates directly to Titan combat awareness
ODM gear masteryAmong the most fluid ODM users in the 104th, able to navigate densely wooded environments other trainees would avoid
Nerve under fireA calm that emerges in crisis; the same soldier who panics over hunger becomes stone-steady when lives are at stake

Personality

Sasha is exuberant, loud, and perpetually hungry in ways that go beyond food — she is hungry for life itself. Her humour and emotional warmth provide the 104th with breathing room in the grimmest of circumstances. She is also, without anyone making a ceremony of it, extraordinarily brave: capable of quiet, selfless courage when the situation demands it.

Relationships

  • Eren Yeager — a member of the same training cohort; Sasha's early interactions with Eren anchor the series' initial sense of camaraderie.
  • Mikasa Ackerman — fellow 104th veteran and comrade across the Survey Corps' most brutal campaigns.
  • Jean Kirstein — a peer whose pragmatic worldview frequently clashes with and complements her emotional openness.
  • Hange Zoë — under whose command Sasha operates in the Survey Corps; their energy is a memorable pairing.

Role in the Story

Sasha is Attack on Titan's heartbeat — the character who makes the cast feel like people rather than archetypes. Her death in Season 4 is the series' starkest reminder that the war has consequences no heroism can forestall, and that the loss of joy itself is among them.
