Göll

Göll is the youngest of the thirteen Valkyrie sisters, the constant companion of Brunhilde throughout the Ragnarok matches, and the series' most openly emotional presence — the one who cries when the fighters fall, who flinches when the blows land, and whose anxiety about the cost of saving humanity is never submerged beneath composure.

Background

She is a demigod, the thirteenth and youngest Valkyrie, and she arrived at Ragnarok as an apprentice — not yet fully trained in the stoic emotional management that senior Valkyries demonstrate. Brunhilde is the sister who proposed Ragnarok to the gods' council and organized its structure; Göll is the sister who watches every round with fear visible on her face, who mourns aloud when the human fighters die and when her sisters die alongside them. The series uses this contrast to provide the audience with an emotional register that the fighters themselves typically don't display: Brunhilde's composure is maintained because her determination requires it, but Göll's visible grief and anxiety tell the audience what each loss actually costs. As an apprentice, she doesn't share Brunhilde's absolute conviction about what Ragnarok is for — her motivation is more clearly centered on her sisters and their survival than on the abstract cause of humanity's continuation.
