She attends a regular high school near Hatagaya Station and took the part-time job at MgRonald's for ordinary reasons — the schedule works, the pay is acceptable, and she gets along with her coworkers. One of those coworkers is Sadao Maou. The supernatural circumstances surrounding this group draw her into events well outside the scope of what a Tokyo high schooler should experience, and she handles this with practical courage and the specific quality of someone who has decided that the people she cares about are worth whatever complications their situation introduces. Her feelings for Maou are clear to the audience and to most other characters before they become clear to him, and the series handles her patience with these feelings as a character trait rather than a limitation.
