Yuuji Itadori

Yuji Itadori is the heart of Jujutsu Kaisen — a kind, superhumanly strong teenager who becomes the host of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, and is thrust into a world that constantly asks him what a "proper death" really means.

Background

Raised by his grandfather, Yuji took his dying words to heart: help others and surround yourself with people, so that you die surrounded by them. When curses attacked his school, he swallowed one of Sukuna's fingers to save his friends and became the curse's vessel. Sentenced to execution by jujutsu higher-ups, he was granted a stay only so he could consume all of Sukuna's fingers first — and die on their terms.

Personality

Empathetic, selfless and relentlessly decent, Yuji measures himself by whether he can give people a death with dignity.
